Dear Susie,
Thank you so much for suggesting Icewind as a holiday location. I spend all night watching the fireflies floating over the volcanic pools. Despite everything else, I truly feel at peace here and part of that is my confidence in your abilities to look after everything at home. Despite there being no link access here, or way to check in on everything, I know in my heart of hearts that all is well. I send my thanks for you with every firefox I see. Not that there are many. As you know, they are shy creatures, staying hidden in their caves unless searching for food. But I've been blessed to see them twice now. An experience I'll treasure for the rest of my days. Anyway, I'm sure I'll be back with you before this card arrives. But this quaint tech can be all the thanks I'm sure I'll struggle to tell you in person.
Can’t wait to see you,
Lucy-Anne
This is the first is a series of fictional postcards. While I’m writing them as an exercise to broaden my writing skills and as something different between larger projects, you can imagine receiving this with your mail and reading it over your hot beverage of choice as a reminder of friends distant, but not forgotten.
