Welcome! Lovely to have you here, bring up a seat and I'll get some tea. Cakes as well, we have to have cakes.
I'm Clarissa, or Clari as most people call me. I'm a fantasy author, mostly young adult, but I stray a bit at time. One thing that is true through all my writing is that I prefer non-violent methods of conflict resolution. I might write about dragons, but they aren't all at war with each other.
In fact, dragons are a big favourite of mine. As is baking. Hence the cakes. My collection of cake tins is exploding out of the cupboard. That's the problem with bundt cakes, as there are so many different tins you can get. Though also one of the biggest attractions about them, as fancy tins mean fancy cakes with little effort. As long as they come out of their tin. (Don't mention the time the castle cake got stuck in the tin for my daughter's birthday and I had to cut it out in pieces. I stuck it together with pink icing and told her it was Kirrin Island, which she was ecstatic about. Probably more so than if it had been a perfect castle!)
I live, with my family, in the Netherlands, though we're originally from the UK. We've been here for almost nine years now, so the children think they are Dutch, even if that isn't what their passport says. Living abroad has it's own challenges, though I can't see us moving anywhere else. At least not in the near future. I'll never say never, as who knows what the future brings.
We have two rabbits, who feature every now and again on my social media. They're meant to be the kids' responsibilities, but we all know how that works, right? Stripe and Spikkel have the largest run I've seen by our back door, so they see all the comings and goings into our house. At the moment they're being tormented by the neighbours doing building work, but I hope that should end soon.
Going back to my books, I have six novels published at the moment, along with two non-fiction books, a collection of short stories and a handful of short stories in anthologies. They are available everywhere good books are sold. That's a code phrase to mean they aren't part of Kindle Unlimited, as that requires exclusivity. They are available through Kobo Plus and Scribd, which are similar subscription services. They are also available through many library suppliers. As well as all the big retailers.
That's enough about me, tell me something about you.
