I have spent quite some time thinking about how to develop this Substack, and what I can add here and what I want to do with this site, and the growing community along with it. Which leads to lots of plans, and I am finally starting to get these into action.
The first step of this is to add more of my fiction onto this site. I post short stories and microfiction here, but given that most of my time is spent writing novels, I wanted to add more information about those onto here and share those with more people. Obviously, I can’t give away the whole ebooks for free - this is my career, after all, and I do need to make income from it. So, I have added the first chapter of every novel, as a way for everyone here to get more of a taste of what I have available. And it turns this site into more of a hub of everything I publish.
Excerpts
If you are here on my substack, then I hope that is because you like my writing! So, I have a selection of excerpts from all my fiction gathered together here for you. This is the first chapters of most of my novels, as well as some other related stories.
You can find all the chapters on the page linked above, ordered by book series. The first chapter for The Archivist and the Feather, which is my next book, will be added next week. So, if you want a sneak peek into that before it publishes the following weekend, then keep an eye out for that!
But, that is not all! The second thing I have added, is the complete text of Dragon Storm. This is a prequel novella to the Dragons of Kaitstud series, which I have available for free (or it should be free, thank you Amazon) on all retailers. So, it is on here as well! If you prefer to be able to add it to your ereader, then you can download it from the platform of your choice, otherwise it is available in full here on Substack!
Dragon Storm - Chapter One
This is a prequel to the Dragons of Kaitstud series of YA fantasy novels.
For some reason, I can’t embed a pretty link to the list of all the chapters (substack - why??) so above is the link to the first chapter, or there’s a link in the options across the top to the list of all eight chapters.
Enjoy!
